What's in a Name?

The word "whisky" comes from the Gaelic uisge beatha (pronounced ooshky-bay) meaning 'water of life', with even earlier roots in the Old Irish words uisce and beothu, from around 900 AD.

Evolving from the original uisge (ooshky) the word was anglicized over time to uiskie in 1618, to whiskie in 1715, to usky in 1736, and finally to whisky in 1746.

"I love to sing, and I love to drink Scotch.  Most people would rather hear me drink Scotch."
George Burns

"Freedom and whisky gang thegether."
Robert Burns

SERVICES:  Restaurant & Private Club Events

If your ideal client is well educated, has an above average income and enjoys spending it on the finer things in life, you might want to consider the attractive demographics of a whisky drinker.

Vanek Whiskey Events will work with you to develop a successful whisky tasting promotion that will showcase both your top cuisine and your top rail.

In working with private clubs, not only can a whiskey tasting event reflect the luxury, exclusivity and extraordinary quality that your members have come to expect from you, but it can also provide a first-class outlet for member food and beverage minimums, building additional club affinity in the process.

Restaurants in turn can use a well positioned nosing event to drive additional traffic on slower nights.  By developing a series of themed nosings you can also use this vehicle to grow your repeat customer base.

Contact Vanek Whiskey Events today to find out how our whisky tastings can be an impactful addition to your promotional calendar.
